The brief was to create an extension for a neoclassical residence in Nicosia. We created a ‘spine’ — a shaded corridor made of glass and wooden slats — to bridge the original house and the new wing. The open-plan extension appears to float above the ground, with floor-to-ceiling windows connecting the audaciously modern annex to the landscape.
